TSR Pets CC Bug Fixer

In October 2011, EA released a game update (patch version 1.26 for PC, 1.27 for Mac) to coincide with the release of the Pets EP. These both included substantial changes to the way Custom Content (CC) works, to enable the animations of Pets to work with objects they could interact with.
The result was that all pre-existing CC was broke and failed to work in the updates games.
TSR have worked tirelessly for days to fix the problem for the entire Sims community. First we fixed our Workshop tool so that all newly created CC would work with the latest game versions. Then we started fixing all of our Sims 3 downloads on the server so that newly downloaded content would also work. Finally, and this is why you are here, we released a tool to fix players’ games, patching their downloaded CC as well as that already installed in their games. The result was a "fix it all" tool to get players games working again. It’s called "TSR Pets CC Bug Fixer", and you can download it in step 1 of our guide.
Note that you will need to update your game to at least 1.26 for PC, 1.27 for Mac (or install the Pets EP) for any new CC to work which you download after October 20th 2011.
Unfortunately this tool will not work for Mac users. Fixed sims3packs can be downloaded from the site and these will work on your Mac. You could also copy your Sims3pack files to a PC and fix them all in one batch to drop back onto your Mac, so there are ways to fix your game, but not as quick and easy I'm afraid.

Lets get started fixing your game shall we?

People gining paid Sims 3 CC for free

People are giving away Sims 3 CC that are paid to be downloaded for free, The way I look at it is, if you buy something it becomes yours, so to me I feel like if someone wants to re-upload and give you paid CC for free they should be able to do so, but not claim it as there own, its like going to Wally Word and buying stuff and them tell you not to give it to someone. To me once you buy it, its yours. Not everyone can afford to get a subscription to the TSR, like me, I did buy a Sub. for 3 months for $13.00, I download a lot of stuff, I didn't share it, and at the time I didn't think about adding the image of what I buy and download, with the download, so now I have a cd full of tsr sub stuff, that to me was a waste of time and money, cause I don't even know what I bought, and to me I feel like if you donate money to a site or sub. to tsr they should let you always re download your CC, with out charging you again, just to download it, cause some people lose there Items to many of reasons. I also have a lot of Updates from tsr CC Items I bought when I had a sub. that I can't update with out re scribing to the site, so to me its aggravating to me. So to me I'm thankful that some people have the ball's to re-uplpoad paid Items that they have bought, cause not everyone can afford the things like CC and ect, for the Sims. I know a lot of people will argue with me on this, but those will be the ones that have money to buy what ever they want. If I was a creator and I was still making a lot of money off my CC I don't think I would freak out about some of my things floating around for free, and if I was a creator I would already know that someone will re-upload it for free. TSR makes a lot of money off people so there not really losing a lot, new stuff id made every day. But anyways if your one of those people who love to get paid Items for free, just go to google and search for some Sims 3 Items that are Paid and search them for free.

Is the Sims resource legal?

Answer:
No, in fact, it is not.

Concerning the Sims 3, at the very least, it is stated in their End User Licence Agreement, in section 2, subsection B, paragraph 4, that:

"In exchange for the right to use content contributed by other users through the Software, when you contribute content through the Software, you expressly grant to other users of the Software the non‐exclusive, perpetual, transferable, worldwide, irrevocable right to access and use, copy, modify, display, perform, and create and distribute derivative works from, your contributed content in connection with the Software, and to distribute and otherwise communicate your contributed content as a component of works that they create using the Software, for example, The Sims lots or The Sims videos, without further notice, attribution or compensation to you. You hereby waive any moral rights of paternity, publication, reputation, or attribution under applicable law with respect to EA's and other players' use and enjoyment of such content contributions in connection with the Software." [Emphasis mine.]

As The Sims Resource charges a subscription (as of this writing) to access some of their content, they are in violation of the EULA and thus infringing on EA's intellectual property rights.
